Our Story

Al & Sharon were the perfect match because they shared their life’s journey, yet they each always found their own way. When it came time to build their legacy, she wanted to find cures, and him, expand minds.  Together, they created the Al & Sharon Cinelli Family Foundation.

Since the 1980s, Al wanted to create a foundation to honor the ah-ha moment he had in college. It was the night he suddenly understood calculus.

As Sharon was leaving us in 2020, she told Al of her desire to expand the mission of the foundation to include funding for research into breast and pancreatic cancer and leukemia.

During Thanksgiving week of 2021, the Al & Sharon Cinelli Family foundation was born.  Al was president of the foundation until he passed in November 2023, and his legacy lives on through the foundation.    In December 2023, the foundation's name was shortened to the Cinelli Family Foundation.
